Genuine Fly Henry Sensor Hardware

Fly Henry Spark Plug Ring CHT Sensor

Engineered specifically for Paramotors (PPG), Microlights, Trikes, and Ultralight aircraft, this under-spark-plug ring CHT probe provides direct, rapid-response cylinder head thermal monitoring. Built with high-temperature insulated leads and available in 10 mm or 14 mm ring diameters with 50 cm or 80 cm cable lengths to match your exact engine and airframe installation.

Mounting Style Under Spark Plug
Ring Sizes 10 mm or 14 mm
Lead Lengths 50 cm or 80 cm
Thermal Range 0°C to 1,000°C

Choosing Your Variant

Please verify your spark plug thread diameter and installation cable run before ordering:

Ring Size Option Spark Plug Compatibility Typical Engine Applications
10 mm Ring Diameter 10 mm thread spark plugs (e.g. NGK "C" series: CR8E, CR9E) Vittorazi Atom 80, Moster 185, EOS 100/150, Minari, and compact 2-strokes
14 mm Ring Diameter 14 mm thread spark plugs (e.g. NGK "B" series: BR8ES, BR9ES, B8ES) Rotax 447, 503, 582, Simonini, Polini Thor, Hirth, and larger aircraft engines
Cable Reach 01

50 cm Harness Length

Ideal for close-coupled paramotor setups where the Fly Henry sensing module or engine hub is mounted directly to the engine backplate, redrive frame, or upper harness spar. Keeps wire routing tidy with zero excess loops.

Cable Reach 02

80 cm Harness Length

Designed for aircraft with longer routing paths—such as trikes, dual-cylinder heads, or installations where the sensing unit is positioned inside a protected cockpit pod or behind an engine bulkhead.

Features & Reliability

Built specifically to withstand high vibration and harsh thermal environments:

01

Immediate Thermal Response

Captures cylinder head temperature changes in seconds, giving the pilot immediate warning of fuel starvation, partial carburettor clogging, or detonation before catastrophic piston seizure occurs.

02

Low-Profile Fitment

The slim thermocouple washer installs directly underneath the spark plug. It securely clamps against the head casting without binding threads or altering spark plug reach into the combustion chamber.

03

Heat-Resistant Sleeving

Protected along its full length with high-temperature fibreglass sleeving to prevent melting, short circuits, or mechanical chafing against engine fins and vibrating frame tubes.

04

Universal EIS Compatibility

Fully compatible with Channels 1 through 4 of the Fly Henry Fly Meter, while functioning seamlessly on other general experimental avionics and standalone CHT gauges.

Technical Specifications

Sensor Architecture Under-spark-plug ring thermocouple probe
Available Ring Sizes 10 mm (M10 spark plugs) & 14 mm (M14 spark plugs)
Available Harness Lengths 50 cm (approx. 20″) & 80 cm (approx. 31.5″)
Operating Temperature Range 0°C to 1,000°C (32°F to 1,832°F) continuous probe rating
Cable Insulation High-temperature braided fibreglass sleeve (300°C+ continuous)
Instrument Compatibility Fly Henry Fly Meter (Channels 1–4) & standard thermocouple displays
Target Aircraft Paramotors (PPG), Microlights, Trikes, and Ultralight aircraft
Installation Tip: Remove the factory metal washer from your spark plug before sliding the ring sensor into place. Torque the spark plug to your engine manufacturer's recommended setting. When routing the lead wire, ensure gentle bends and secure it with heat-resistant zip ties to avoid chafing against sharp cylinder cooling fins.
