Genuine Fly Henry Sensor Hardware

Fly Henry Threaded EGT (Exhaust Gas Temperature) Sensor

Engineered specifically for Paramotors (PPG), Microlights, Trikes, and Ultralight (ULL) aircraft, this threaded stainless steel EGT probe provides direct thermal monitoring inside the exhaust flow. Designed to protect 2-stroke and 4-stroke engines from lean-run seizure and detonation, it is available in M6 or M8 thread pitches with a choice of 50 cm or 80 cm cable leads.

Sensor Style Threaded Exhaust Probe
Thread Sizes M6 or M8 Metric
Cable Reach 50 cm or 80 cm
Thermal Range 0°C to 1,000°C

Choosing Your Sensor Configuration

Verify your exhaust header boss diameter and cable routing path before ordering:

Thread Size Typical Exhaust Location Common Engine Applications
M6 × 1.0 Compact manifold ports or tuned pipe header collars Vittorazi Atom 80 / Moster 185, EOS 100/150, Minari, and lightweight 2-strokes
M8 × 1.0 Factory exhaust manifold bungs or welded steel adapter bosses Polini Thor series, Rotax 447, 503, 582, Simonini, and higher-displacement engines
Cable Reach 01

50 cm Cable Length

Optimised for close-coupled paramotor cages where the Fly Henry sensing module is mounted to the immediate engine backplate, reduction housing, or upper chassis spar. Keeps the engine bay clean with zero excess loops.

Cable Reach 02

80 cm Cable Length

Designed for aircraft requiring extended cable runs—such as trikes, tandem paramotors, or cowled ultralights where the sensing hub is isolated on a cool firewall or forward cockpit bulkhead.

Engineering & Reliability Features

Built specifically to survive the hostile gas environment of high-output aero exhausts:

01

Instant Mixture Feedback

Provides near-instantaneous thermal feedback as throttle and mixture change, alerting you to sudden lean conditions, fuel jet clogging, or air leaks before piston crown burn-through can happen.

02

Stainless Steel Housing

Machined from corrosion- and heat-resistant stainless steel to prevent thread seizing, carbon oxidation, and erosion from corrosive exhaust gases and unburned 2-stroke oil residues.

03

Fly Meter Integration

Compatible with Channels 1 to 4 on the Fly Henry Fly Meter. Simply enable the corresponding temperature channel in the menu for real-time readings and threshold alarm flashing.

04

High-Temp Braided Lead

Protected by a dense braided fibreglass sleeve that resists continuous radiant exhaust heat and prevents shorting or mechanical chafing against vibrating engine brackets.

Technical Specifications

Sensor Architecture Threaded direct-immersion exhaust gas thermocouple probe
Available Thread Pitches M6 × 1.0 • M8 × 1.0 metric threads
Available Cable Lengths 50 cm (approx. 20″) • 80 cm (approx. 31.5″)
Measurement Range 0°C to 1,000°C (32°F to 1,832°F) continuous
Probe & Housing Material High-grade heat-resistant stainless steel
Cable Insulation High-temperature braided fibreglass sleeve with chafe protection
Instrument Compatibility Fly Henry Fly Meter (Channels 1–4) & universal thermocouple EIS units
Target Aircraft Paramotors (PPG), Microlights, Trikes, and Ultralight (ULL) aircraft
Installation Tip: For most 2-stroke engines, mount the probe in the exhaust manifold header approximately 100 mm to 150 mm (4″ to 6″) from the piston face, ensuring the sensing tip sits in the centre of the exhaust gas flow. Use a high-temperature copper anti-seize paste on the threads to prevent galling during future inspections.
