Fly Henry Capacitive Fuel Level Sensor (Trimmable)

Engineered specifically for Paramotors (PPG), Microlights, Trikes, and Ultralight (ULL) aircraft, this solid-state capacitive fuel level probe provides continuous, slosh-damped fuel measurement without mechanical floats. Available in standard lengths of 29 cm or 45 cm, both versions can be easily cut down to size to match the exact internal depth of any custom fuel tank.

Sensor Tech Solid-State Capacitive
Standard Lengths 29 cm or 45 cm
Custom Fit Field Cut-to-Length
Output Protocol 0 – 5 V Analogue

Choosing Your Base Length

Select the model closest to (or slightly taller than) your fuel cell internal depth:

Model Option Probe Length & Trimming Recommended Aircraft Fitment
29 cm Probe 290 mm factory length • Trimmable down to any shallow depth Compact paramotor tanks, low-slung teardrop fuel cells, under-seat paramotor tanks
45 cm Probe 450 mm factory length • Trimmable down to any intermediate depth Deep tandem paramotor tanks, trike saddle tanks, and upright ultralight fuselage cells
Variant 01

29 cm Probe (Shallow Tanks)

The standard choice for most modern foot-launch paramotors. Perfectly matches 10L to 14L poly tanks from Vittorazi, Airfer, Parajet, Scout, and PAP. If your tank internal clearance is 22 cm, simply trim 7 cm off the probe for a tailored installation.

Variant 02

45 cm Probe (Deep / Trike Tanks)

Engineered for higher-capacity tanks found on tandem trikes, cross-country paramotors, and light ultralights. Provides continuous sensing through deep vertical sumps, ensuring accurate readings right down to the final reserve litres.

Engineering & Reliability Advantages

Why capacitive solid-state technology outperforms traditional mechanical floats:

01

Zero Moving Parts

Mechanical float arms frequently bounce, stick on internal tank seams, or suffer broken pivot potentiometers from motor vibration. Capacitive sensing uses solid metal tubes that will never wear out or jam.

02

Field Trimmable

Easily shortened with a standard pipe cutter or fine hacksaw. Simply cut the outer aluminium tube and inner rod to leave approximately 10 mm of bottom tank clearance, deburr the cut, and re-fit the bottom spacer.

03

Fly Meter Integration

Outputs a stable 0–5 V analogue signal that connects directly to the Fly Henry Fly Meter. Calibrate in three simple steps (0% Empty, 50% Half, 100% Full) to compensate for irregular tank geometries.

04

Slosh Damped Telemetry

The tubular column acts as an internal baffle, preventing rapid fuel movement during turns, spiral dives, or wing oscillations from causing false low-fuel warning flashes on your instrument.

Technical Specifications

Sensor Architecture Solid-state capacitive liquid level probe (no moving parts)
Standard Length Options 29 cm (290 mm) or 45 cm (450 mm)
Length Customisation Can be cut down to any custom length with a tube cutter or fine hacksaw
Output Signal 0 – 5 V DC analogue linear voltage output
Compatible Liquid Media Aviation petrol (AvGas), Mogas (E5 / E10), 2-stroke petrol/oil pre-mix
Instrument Compatibility Fly Henry Fly Meter (Fuel Level Input) & universal 0–5 V EIS displays
Target Aircraft Paramotors (PPG), Microlights, Trikes, and Ultralight (ULL) aircraft
Trimming & Calibration Advice: When trimming the probe, leave approximately 10 mm of clearance from the lowest point of your fuel tank to prevent the tip from rubbing. After securing the sensor with its fuel-proof sealing washer, perform the 3-step calibration on the Fly Meter (0% empty, 50% half-filled, and 100% completely full) with the aircraft resting in its typical flying attitude.
