EVO Generation 80 mm Air Data Instrumentation

IFD-NET EVO BARO (80 mm)

Designed specifically for Ultralight, Light Sport (LSA), and Experimental aircraft, the IFD-NET EVO BARO condenses primary air data into a single, high-contrast 80 mm (3⅛″) instrument. Driven by internal solid-state pressure transducers and an ultra-bright colour screen (up to 1,200 cd/m²), it provides high-precision Altimeter, Airspeed (IAS), and Variometer (VSI) functions operated via an intuitive dual concentric rotary encoder.

Cutout Size Standard 80 mm (3⅛″)
Interface Dual Concentric Knob
Screen Brightness Up to 1,200 cd/m²
Input Voltage 10 V – 28 V DC

Dedicated Flight Telemetry Environments

Cycle through or configure your preferred dedicated primary air data pages:

Page 01

Altimeter (ALT)

Choose between Classic 3-Pointer and Modern Drum-Pointer presentations. Rotate the large knob crown for whole pressure increments and the small crown for decimal-level QNH/QFE baro setting (hPa or inHg).

Page 02

Airspeed (IAS)

Full-dial graphic anemometer with configurable V-speed safety bands (Vs0, Vs1, Vfe, Vno, Vne) in knots, km/h, or mph. Automatic full scale scaling to Vne + 40 km/h with integrated zero-speed offset compensation.

Page 03

Variometer (VSI)

High-precision vertical speed needle derived from rapid barometric sampling. Supports Standard (±2,500 ft/min) or Extended (±6,000 ft/min) ranges with adjustable pointer damping response.

Advanced Pressure Calibration

  • ALT TRIM Offset: Fine-tune displayed altitude in 0.1 mbar steps to eliminate installation discrepancies.
  • IAS TRIM Adjustment: Zero out residual static pressure sensor offsets under hangar conditions.
  • SAVE MSLP Function: Option to preserve barometric reference pressure across power cycles.

Ergonomics & 80 mm Installation

  • Dual Concentric Dial: Outer ring for coarse changes; inner knob for fine precision tuning.
  • Standard 80 mm Hole: Direct fit for 3⅛″ panel locations secured by three included 4MA screws.
  • Solid Brass Ports: Heavy-duty 1/8″ NPT pneumatic connectors for leak-proof Pitot and Static lines.

Technical Specifications

Panel Mounting Standard Standard 80 mm (3⅛″ aeronautical cutout)
Dimensions (W × H × D) 85.4 mm × 89.0 mm × 67.5 mm
Cockpit Controls Dual concentric rotary knobs with integrated push-switch
Display Brightness High-contrast sunlight readable up to 1,200 cd/m²
Operating Voltage Range 10 V – 28 V DC (max 0.8 A, transient protected; 2A breaker suggested)
Power Consumption Down to 3.5 W (approx. 300 mA @ 12 V DC)
Operating Temperature Range -10°C to +70°C (up to 90% RH non-condensing)
Pneumatic Connections 1/8″ NPT female brass ports (Pitot & Static)
Electrical Connector Standard 9-pin Sub-D female connector
Configurable Measurement Units Altitude (m/ft), Speed (kts/km/h/mph), VSI (m/s or ft/min), Pressure (hPa/inHg)
Included Accessories 3× 4MA × 10 mm black panel screws
Panel Installation Note: When fitting the 80 mm EVO unit into a standard 3⅛″ panel cutout, ensure the bottom-right corner hole is enlarged to 7.5 mm to clear the encoder shaft. Remove the concentric knobs using a flat-blade screwdriver and 6 mm socket, insert the unit, and refit the knobs leaving an approximate 1 mm panel clearance. Always hand-tighten pneumatic hose adapters to prevent twisting internal silicone lines.
