Genuine Fly Henry Sensor Hardware

Fly Henry Threaded Water / Coolant Temperature Sensor

Engineered specifically for liquid-cooled Paramotors (PPG), Microlights, and Ultralight (ULL) aircraft, this threaded brass probe delivers real-time coolant temperature monitoring directly to your cockpit instrument. Available in M6, M8, or M10 thread pitches with a choice of 50 cm or 80 cm cable leads to match any cylinder head or inline radiator plumbing.

Sensor Type Threaded Immersion
Thread Sizes M6, M8, or M10
Cable Reach 50 cm or 80 cm
Thermal Range 0°C to 125°C

Choosing Your Sensor Configuration

Verify your cylinder head tap size or inline hose adapter diameter before ordering:

Thread Size Typical Location Common Engine Applications
M6 × 1.0 Cylinder head bleed port or compact inline sensor union Vittorazi Moster 185 (Water-Cooled), Polini Thor 80/130, compact 2-strokes
M8 × 1.0 Factory cylinder head sensor boss or aluminium hose T-piece Polini Thor 190/200/250, Corsair Black Devil liquid-cooled conversions
M10 × 1.0 Thermostat housing, pump housing, or heavy-duty cylinder head port Rotax 582, Simonini Mini 2+ liquid-cooled, Hirth, and larger aircraft engines
Cable Reach 01

50 cm Cable Length

Tailored for close-coupled paramotor setups where the Fly Henry sensing module is mounted to the immediate motor backing plate, redrive frame, or upper harness spar. Keeps engine cabling tidy with no excess slack.

Cable Reach 02

80 cm Cable Length

Engineered for aircraft with remote radiator layouts, trike frames, or tandem setups where the sensing unit is housed in a protected cockpit enclosure or forward bulkhead.

Engineering & Reliability Features

Built specifically to protect liquid-cooled aero engines from thermal stress:

01

Direct Fluid Immersion

The turned brass housing places the internal thermal sensor directly into the coolant stream, providing rapid temperature response times to detect pump failures or coolant loss before overheating can cause damage.

02

Fly Meter Native Integration

Pairs directly with the dedicated 0–125°C fluid input channel on the Fly Henry Fly Meter. Select the native Fly Henry profile in the setup menu for instant calibration with no manual resistance entry required.

03

Robust Sealing Shoulder

Machined with an integrated hexagonal body and sealing seat, allowing reliable torquing against copper, aluminium, or bonded crush washers to eliminate cooling system leaks under system pressure.

04

Oil & Fuel Resistant Lead

The outer protective sheath resists glycol coolants, synthetic 2-stroke oils, and aviation fuels, maintaining its flexibility and mechanical strength despite engine compartment vibration.

Technical Specifications

Sensor Architecture Threaded direct immersion liquid temperature probe
Available Thread Sizes M6 × 1.0 • M8 × 1.0 • M10 × 1.0 metric threads
Available Harness Lengths 50 cm (approx. 20″) & 80 cm (approx. 31.5″)
Measurement Range 0°C to 125°C (32°F to 257°F) continuous
Housing Material Solid turned brass with machined sealing shoulder
Instrument Compatibility Fly Henry Fly Meter (Dedicated Fluid Channel) & universal EIS units
Target Aircraft Liquid-cooled Paramotors (PPG), Microlights, Trikes, and Ultralights
Installation Tip: Always install the sensor with a suitable copper or aluminium crush washer to ensure a pressure-tight seal. Do not over-torque the brass thread into aluminium heads. After installation, bleed the cooling system thoroughly to ensure the sensor tip is completely immersed in coolant and free of air bubbles.
