The IFD-NET Baro (Classic) is the first-generation digital flight instrument from M.A.V. Avionic, predating the current "Evo" range. Unlike a full EFIS, the Baro classic focuses on mimicking analogue-style presentation (needles and scales) using a high-resolution digital display.
Core Description
The classic IFD-NET Baro is a "multiview" instrument. Depending on your preference or the specific hole you are filling in your panel, it can be configured as a dedicated Altimeter, Airspeed Indicator (ASI), or Vertical Speed Indicator (VSI).
- Hybrid Interface: It combines a digital "clock face" with moving needles and a central digital readout for precise figures.
- Sensor Integration: All sensors are embedded. It uses internal solid-state pressure transducers for pitot and static data, meaning no external "brain" boxes are required.
- Safety Markings: You can manually set the coloured arcs (Green, White, Yellow, and Red radial lines) for your specific aircraft's V-speeds (e.g., Vne, Vfe, Vs1) via the internal setup menu.
Technical Specifications
- Display: Sunlight-visible colour TFT, typically around 1000 nits.
- Power Consumption: Very low, approximately 200mA at 12V.
- Pneumatic Connections: 2 x 1/8" NPT ports on the rear (marked Static and Pitot).
- Data Bus: Includes the Fly Bus (RS485) on the 9-pin Sub-D connector, allowing it to act as a Master or Slave unit in a larger IFD-NET network.
