The Fly Henry Oil and Fuel Pressure Sensor is a specialized aviation-grade component designed specifically for integration with the Fly Henry FLY Meter engine management system. It is commonly used in light aviation, ultralights, microlights, and powered paraglider (PPG) trikes to monitor critical engine health parameters.

Technical Specifications & Performance

  • Pressure Measurement Range: 0 to 6.9 Bar (though some older/alternate system modules scale up to 10 Bar within the FLY Meter firmware).

  • Compatibility: Designed strictly for use with the Fly Henry FLY Meter system architecture. The sensor wires directly into the remote Measurement Module located near the engine, which then transmits digital data via a single harness to the Visualization Module on the pilot's dashboard.

  • Dual-Purpose Utility: The same sensor model can be utilized for monitoring either oil pressure or fuel pressure, depending on where it is plumbed and how the FLY Meter configuration is set up.

Physical Variations & Connection Types

To accommodate different engine bays, firewalls, and plumbing layouts (such as Rotax or custom paramotor setups), Fly Henry offers the pressure sensor in two main fitting designs:

  • Threaded Variation (1/8 MPT): Features a standard 1/8" NPT Thread connection, allowing it to screw directly into an engine block's oil gallery, a dedicated sensor manifold, or an oil filter housing.

  • Barb / Push-On Variation (5mm Hosepipe): Equipped with a 5mm barbed fitting designed to slide directly into flexible fuel or oil hose lines, secured via hose clamps.

System Functionality & Cockpit Alerts

When integrated into the FLY Meter system, the oil pressure sensor plays a vital role in flight safety:

  • Real-Time Telemetry: Delivers continuous pressure readings to the pilot’s visual display unit.

  • Configurable Alarms: Pilots can set precise minimum and maximum pressure thresholds. If oil pressure drops below safe operational limits (indicating a leak, pump failure, or low oil level) or spikes abnormally, the FLY Meter triggers an immediate visual or audible cockpit alert.
